constructed in the memory of the soldiers, which was originally known as the “All India War Memorial”. The structure has soldiers names inscribed on the walls of the arc. Over the years, it’s grown into a wonderful picnic spot.

red-fortRED FORT : Built by Mughal emperor Shajahan with the ambition of resizing whole of the Mughal power in one monument. And thus, it appears like a mini-city in itself.It comprises different rooms like Naqqar Khana (Drum room), the Diwan-e-Am (Hall of Public Audience), Mumtaz Mahal, Rang Mahal and the Hammam (bathing area) to execute some specific tasks.

humayun-tombHUMAYUN  TOMB: Humayun tomb was made by the wife of Humayun, considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. It’s built in red stone and superbly exhibits the potency and refinement of Mughal work of art.His wife is buried in the complex only, thus making the structure worth visiting.


JANTAR MANTAR : Jantar Mantar is a magical structure of Solomon colored structures. It is actually an observatory with the astonishing feature of calculating many astronomical movements very accurately.

safdarjang-tombSAFDERJUNG TOMB : Safderjung tomb is situated on the Lodi road, Delhi. It is set in the center of the garden with beautifull landscaping, representing the last phase of the Mughal style of architecture.On either side of the tomb are beautiful pavilions, known as “Moti Mahal”, “Jangli Mahal” or the sylvan palace and “Badshah Pasand” or the emperor’s favorite,interesting place to explore.

jama-masjidJAMA MASJID : Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India, located in the heart of the old city and projects beautifully into the Old-Delhi skyline. Originally called the Masjid-i-Jahan-Numa, meaning “mosque commanding view of the world”, it has three gateways, four towers and two minarets.Main entrance is facing the red fort.
